Broadcast

Broadcast is a widely inspired band from England signed to Warp records (the founding electro label of Aphex Twin & Squarepusher) putting out a style inspired by 60's avant-garde & electronics. Trish Keenan and James Cargill are the duo known as Broadcast from Birmingham, UK.Their initial influence was the psychedelic band The United States of America. Over the years their sound has evolved from a mixture of 1960's pop with 1960's film score music, and recently modern electronic elements, into what is now a relatively minimalistic sound. Keenan's vocals (think Francoise Hardy) are hauntingly beautiful against Cargill's inspired instrumentation, ranging from pulsating electronic bursts to simple acoustic arrangements.
